An Unusual Summer by Kamal Aljafari is a film made exclusively from the records of a security camera located in the Arab quarter of Ramla (also known as "the Ghetto"), Israel, during the summer of 2006. A surveillance camera is equipped with artificial intelligence and serves both to prevent crime and to identify perpetrators. The image of a person is recorded and if they are recognized they are caught. But how are they recognized? By the face? By the way they walk? By the clothes? By the hair? All responsibility lies within the image, but can it be trusted? (Melisa Liebenthal and Sofía Mele)
